Looking for a new start in life, to break new ground in the fertile valleys and provide the roots for new American community covering over 2,000 miles of unforgiving terrain in an ox drawn wagon is virtually unfathomable by modern day standards. The vast desert, raging rivers, and rugged mountain passes. That we cross in matter of minutes were major endeavor and which many of settlers did not survive.
